The homeopathic community is busy working away to prepare ourselves and our clients for the Swine Flu.
You will not be surprised to hear that we are not letting ourselves get swept up into the media hysteria.
We recognise and adhere to concept of the importance of preventive medicine.
Now is the time to ensure that we do all we can to maintain our fitness and our immunity … clean up our diets … avoid junk food, sugar, stimulants – yes, tea and coffee! – plenty of fresh water; ensure that we get adequate rest; avoid stress as much as possible … including FEAR … look after your adrenal glands; if you are run down, this is a good time to come for a quick ‘M.O.T.’ Remember the old adage : a stitch in time saves nine! Keep away from ’snotty-making’ foods, especially cheese, milk and bananas.
If you’re feeling a cold come on, stay at home, rest, drink plenty of water, hot lemon juice with grated ginger and – if you can take it – crushed garlic. Hold your nose and swig it down! 3 daily! I always recommend a bottle of Floravital Herbal Tonic to all my clients in the winter/spring season; Kindervital is the children’s equivalent. This swine flu is coming at a funny time of year, generally, but the same tips apply.
A good quality multivitamin/multimineral is essential for us all these days … Quest or Solgar are very good (they are food-matrix, in other words they come from food so that we can absorb them easily, as opposed to ‘chemical’ vitamins) and I have used Mannatech’s products myself (Phytomatrix etc) for over 7 years now. (See my website – www.pcksmith.com – for details as to WHY we need to supplement … go to the glyconutrient button). I used to believe we didn’t need to supplement, but I wised up. (I am a Mannatech Associate, by the way, but they are the only company with the patented glyconutrients.)
While I am on the topic, Lamberts do some good high potency Pure Fish Oil and Pure Starflower Oil to get your Essential fatty Acids. 01892 554312 or in your local Wholefood Shop. I also take Hofels deodourised garlic pearles. Garlic is SO good for helping to clear up chest infections and sinusitis.
The NHS is saying : if you have a cold/chest infection/flu DON’T go to your doctor’s surgery, DON’T go to work, keep away from sick people, too! DON’T spread it around, PLEASE! I completely agree! (;0)
I am going to suggest that you have a look at the following links. One is by Dr Mercola and the other is from Helios Homeopathic Pharmacy.

One parting thought: Louis Pasteur, father of the “germ” theory of disease, famously conceded on his deathbed that “Béchamp avait raison, le microbe n’est rien, le terrain est tout” ”Bechamp avait raison, le microbe n’est rien, le terrain est tout.”(Bechamp was right … the microbe is nothing, the terrain is everything). He recognised that his colleague correctly understood that a healthy body fought off germs, and yet Science chooses to forget that!
Stay calm, centred, well-fed, well-rested and stay away from frightened and fearful people!

Thanks, Peter – well said.
Before we all don fashionable space-suits, it’s probably worth bearing in mind that there have – so far – been less than twenty confirmed deaths due to swine flu. Common-or-garden influenza kills half-a-million people every year.
Cheers,
James

It is good to keep things in perspective, that’s for sure.

I completely agree, and am daily astonished at the fear mongering that is going on in the media.
Is the object , in fact, to terrorize people?
That’s how it seems, oftentimes, around these and other issues.
Is it such an alien concept, that thoughts are living things…and whatever we put our energy into grows stronger?
What a more sensible way to manage this – to get and keep our health (mental, physical and spiritual) where it is stongest.
